About Ryan

Ryan Thomas is a Partner at Andersons Solicitors and heads the firm’s Family Law team.

Ryan joined Andersons in 2010 as a Senior Associate before becoming a Partner in 2012.

He understands that separation is often one of the most difficult times in a person’s life. Ryan takes the time to listen, explain the options available and help clients make informed decisions about what comes next. Wherever possible, he works to resolve matters through negotiation and mediation, helping clients avoid the cost and stress of court proceedings. When litigation is necessary, Ryan is a skilled and experienced advocate.

As one of only a small number of Accredited Family Law Specialists in South Australia, Ryan advises clients across all aspects of family law, including parenting arrangements, property settlements, financial agreements and complex matters involving businesses, trusts and self-managed superannuation funds. He also holds a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Laws (Applied Law), majoring in Family Law.

As head of Andersons’ Family Law team, Ryan leads a collaborative group of specialist lawyers who regularly share knowledge and experience to ensure clients receive practical, well-considered advice. He is also a long-standing member of the Law Society of South Australia’s Family Law Committee and has been recognised in Doyles Guide as one of South Australia’s leading family lawyers.

My approach

The first step is often the hardest. My role is to make that step easier by listening, explaining your options and helping you decide what comes next.

Most family law matters can be resolved without going to court, and wherever possible I focus on practical solutions that help people get on with their lives.
