Stokes Legal has been acquired by prominent South Australian law firm, Andersons Solicitors.
The acquisition brings together two trusted and recognised South Australian firms, and strengthens Andersons’ full legal service offering which was first launched in Port Adelaide more than 50 years ago.
“This is an exciting time for the firm, with the acquisition really strengthening our position in the Western suburbs,” Andersons’ Chief Operating Officer, Dion McCaffrie said.
“It is another demonstration of our commitment to growing our presence in South Australia, and increasing our support for the local community with solutions to a wide range of legal issues.”
While founders David and Angela Stokes are retiring from Stokes Legal, the firm will continue to operate under its brand, which has been trusted in South Australia’s legal industry for over 30 years.
The Stokes Legal offices in Woodville, Dernancourt and Edwardstown will remain, increasing Andersons’ presence in South Australia to a total of eight offices.
The Andersons and Stokes teams have been working closely to ensure minimal disruption to Stokes Legal’ clients.
“We wanted to ensure our clients were left in safe and trusted hands, and we’re pleased to have found that in Andersons Solicitors,” David Stokes said.
“Our clients will have access to a well-resourced, highly credible team of lawyers working to deliver practical, efficient and cost-effective legal services.”
The acquisition will officially commence from 1 July 2021.
