Our Ongoing Community Support
At Andersons, we're passionate about the work we do on a day-to-day basis in the law. Our team of solicitors and support staff are committed to the service and support they provide to our clients but that's exactly what's expected of a successful law firm.
To further enhance our commitment to our staff and to our community, we pride ourselves on the non-legal support we provide to a number of not-for-profit organisations and sporting clubs as seen by our associations listed to the right.
As well as these long standing relationships the firm has with community organisations, we have developed a structured plan of not-for-profit support driven by our staff.
Our Community Relationships Committee (“CRC”) was developed in mid-2016 with a goal to add structure and purpose to the way our staff participate in corporate social responsibility activities.
Prior to this exciting new strategy, we concentrated primarily on fundraising initiatives but we realised many of our staff wanted to be more actively involved and be able to see exactly what their involvement is achieving.
From 1 July 2016, our CRC will be driving the community involvement initiatives with a quarterly program. Each quarter will concentrate fundraising, donations and volunteer support toward a specific need; for example childrens issues, homelessness or victims of crime. Our aim is to direct our support, as often as possible, to local concerns but for now, we will be maintaining our long held support of Sids and Kids national Red Nose Day campaign for the April quarter (incorporating the late June Red Nose Day campaign) each year.
Our staff will be involved in a variety of support initiatives including daily loose change donations into our “coin cans” across all office locations, direct fundraising, participation in organised fundraising events (for example, the Hutt Street Centre Walk a Mile in My Boots), volunteering time to charities and not-for-profit organisations, donating sought after goods.
Our aim is to not only increase valuable contributions to the not-for-profit community but to provide our staff with the opportunity to participate in highly rewarding and worthwhile activities outside their commitment to the practice of law.
