About Julie
Julie Brownett is a Consultant in Andersons Solicitors’ Personal Injury team, practising in motor vehicle accident, medical negligence and public liability claims.
Julie brings more than two decades of legal experience to her role and has built a diverse career across legal practice, education and training. After originally working in legal and medical administration, she returned to university as a mature age student to complete her law degree and was admitted to practice in 2004.
Throughout her career, Julie has worked in both defendant and plaintiff personal injury practice, giving her valuable insight into the way compensation claims are assessed and managed. She has also shared her knowledge with the next generation of lawyers, teaching law subjects at TAFE and serving as Coordinator and Lecturer for the Civil Litigation unit in the Law Society of South Australia’s Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice program.
Julie has a particular interest in medical negligence claims and finds great satisfaction in helping clients navigate what is often a highly personal and emotional experience. She understands the significant impact that injuries and health issues can have on individuals and their families and is committed to helping clients achieve positive outcomes.
Julie joined Andersons because of the firm’s strong personal injury practice and positive culture, and she enjoys working alongside a team that shares her commitment to helping injured South Australians.
Outside of work, Julie enjoys strength training, discovering new dining experiences with her partner and, perhaps unexpectedly, deadlifting.
My approach
When people come to see me, I want them to feel informed, supported and clear about their options. My role is to explain the issues, evidence and risks openly and honestly so you can make informed decisions about your claim with realistic expectations. I believe clear communication and practical advice are essential, particularly when clients are dealing with the challenges that often follow a serious injury or health issue.
