Paul was the first wheelchair bound lawyer to be admitted to practice in South Australia. He was admitted as a barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court of South Australia in 1965.
He commenced practice in Port Adelaide and started the current firm of Andersons Solicitors then known as Anderson Evans & Co in 1968 at Port Adelaide where he practiced in general litigation both criminal and civil appearing in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court.
The firm opened an office in Adelaide and continued to practice at Port Adelaide, Paul transferred to the Adelaide office in 1976 where he specialised in personal injury litigation and criminal law.
In 1985 Paul began to practice solely as a barrister within the firm of Andersons Solicitors conducting cases at all levels in personal injury litigation. He continued to do this until 1990.
In 1990 Paul became full-time managing partner of Andersons Solicitors which by that time had grown to 40 lawyers and had moved to its present location at 185 Victoria Square, Adelaide.
After five years as full-time managing partner Paul commenced to practice as a litigious solicitor specialising in personal injury litigation of all types and has continued to do that until the present time.
Paul was the inaugural legal officer of the Paraplegic and Quadriplegic Association and served on the committee for many years. He is the longest serving member of the Legal Practitioners Disciplinary Tribunal. He was a member of the Accident Compensation Committee of the Law Society for a number of years.
Paul is married and has two adult children.
His interests outside the firm include reading, television, movies and the theatre. He plays chess and enjoys dining out and red wines.
