Formalising Arrangements in Relation to Children

Parents of children are encouraged to make suitable arrangements for a child or children without going to Court and where possible to have a co-operative and shared parenting following separation. 

In the absence of agreement, parents have certain compulsory obligations to fulfil if unable to resolve a dispute about arrangements for children.  At Andersons, we can advise you about your obligations and what to do if you are unable to reach agreement after you have fulfilled all your obligations.

Formalising your childrens' parenting arrangements can be implemented in several ways but not all agreements are legally binding. It is important to know about the ways in which you can make your agreement enforceable, if you have reached an agreement with the other parent.   For example, this can be done with the assistance of mediation.
